The Bee's Knees dates back to the Roaring Twenties, created by Frank Meier — head bartender and secret spy at the Ritz Bar in Paris. During Prohibition, bartenders used honey and lemon to mask the harsh taste of bathtub gin. The result was so good, it became a classic in its own right.
